Music Progress - Bass Level (New Video)
It's been a long time coming. Last year was a struggle, especially with a work project for a challenging client. That took up way more of my music time than I care to admit. I even worked when I was on PTO... yuck!
Even so, I somehow managed to finish a new milestone on my latest album project, Until Hell Freezes Ever Over. All bass lines are tracked and ready to be put in the mix. Writing (for the newer songs), rehearsing, and tracking bass lines for eleven songs is a task within itself without the outside distractions. But, where would we be if we were not overcoming life's distractions? More productive would be my first thought.
I'm more pleased than I would have thought with the bass lines for these songs. Some of the older ones were re-worked in some part, and I really like the impact those changes made for their respective songs.
I started my rock n' roll career as a bass player for my first band, Seducer. I also played bass and was the lead vocalist in my next gigging band, Mankind. It was important for me to put some thought and quality into the bass lines. I think I accomplished that. What do you think?
Next step... guitar solos! If this year has fewer distractions, I should be able to get the album completed by mid-year. So far, work is looking that way. It's the world that concerns me now.
Please check out the progress level in this cool video montage I made so you can do that very thing. It is a quick and dirty mix/master to give you an idea of how the songs are coming along. Vocals are still the foundation tracks I used to get the production ball rolling.
